Potential Applications for 360 Video and Images

  • Visual documentation of places students will visit during a study abroad trip
  • Create campus tours using 360 video/image and ThingLink to create hot spots with information about the locations in the video or image
    • Link to another ThingLink of a tour of an individual building or lab
  • Location tours (i.e. the Grand Canyon) and immersive experiences (i.e. shuttle launches)
  • Real-world settings or scenarios (health labs, emergency rooms, court rooms, etc.)
  • Allow students to explore environments (i.e. waiting room, therapist room/office, classrooms) and ask students to identify stressors(i.e. loud noises, magazines) in the environment. Have students write reflection papers or upload the video to Studio and ask students to comment on the video about what they see in the environment.
  • Environmental videos - How do we set up camp around a volcano?
  • Ask students to generate 360 video and images and encourage students to comment on each other's videos
  • Ask students to use 360 video or image to tell a story about different characters in a scene. Video games are a good example of characters moving from scene to scene and interacting with the video game environment.
  • Group or individual 360 video/image of a community service project. Videos can be stitched together if students are located in different cities.
