Overview of EPT Study Abroad to South Africa

Overview of EPT Study Abroad to KwaZulu-Natal

The first study abroad for the Educational Psychology & Technology (EPT) program was in August 2017  in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The city of Pietermaritzburg is in KwaZulu-Natal province.

The study abroad program to KwaZulu-Natal is designed to provide students an understanding of the South African cultural, educational, economic, health, legal and political structures, practices, and beliefs.  Together with our partners at Slangspruit Primary School, Ukhulapha, and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, we aim to expose students to a broad range of topics including group and organizational dynamics, global mental health, and program/intervention design and evaluation.  Students engage in workshops with South African educators and students, cultural excursions, and exploration of South Africa’s economic, tourism, political, and social-health sectors.

Below are some excerpts from our study abroad.
